These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Dementia Care web application, available at https://www.thedementiacare.com (the “Website”) and at https://www.app.thedementiacare.com (the “Application”). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Application.
1. About The Dementia Care
The Dementia Care is a free, mobile-first web application designed to support caregivers of individuals living with dementia. The Application provides structured daily activities, progress tracking, and caregiver journaling tools intended to support engagement and organization in daily care routines.
The Application is a supportive caregiving tool only and is not a medical product.
2. Eligibility
To use the Application, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally capable of entering into binding agreements
- Use the Application only for lawful caregiving-related purposes
By using the Application, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Account Registration & Security
3.1 Account Creation
- An account is required to access the Application.
- You must provide a valid email address and create a secure password.
- Acceptance of these Terms is mandatory during account creation.
3.2 Account Limitations
- One caregiver account per user
- One patient profile per caregiver account (current limitation)
3.3 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activities occurring under your account
- Not sharing your account with others
The Dementia Care is not responsible for unauthorized access caused by your failure to safeguard credentials.
4. Use of the Application
4.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Application to:
- Plan and complete caregiving activities
- Track patient engagement and mood
- Maintain caregiver journal entries
- View historical progress and analytics
- Switch between supported languages (English, Greek, German)
4.2 Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Access or attempt to access other users’ data
- Reverse engineer or interfere with the Application
- Upload malicious code or misuse analytics systems
- Use the Application for illegal, abusive, or harmful purposes
- Represent the Application as medical advice or treatment
5. Medical Disclaimer
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Dementia Care:
- Does NOT provide medical advice
- Does NOT diagnose, treat, or cure dementia
- Does NOT replace professional medical care
All activities, journals, mood tracking, and observations are:
- Informational and supportive only
- Based on caregiver-reported data
- Subjective and not medically validated
Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions.
6. Activities & Outcomes Disclaimer
- Activities are designed for engagement and stimulation only.
- No guarantees are made regarding effectiveness, outcomes, or improvements.
- Patient responses may vary significantly.
- The Dementia Care is not responsible for emotional, physical, or behavioral outcomes resulting from activity participation.
7. User-Generated Content
7.1 Ownership
You retain ownership of content you create, including:
- Journal entries
- Observations
- Notes and assessments
7.2 License
By using the Application, you grant The Dementia Care a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide Application functionality.
8. Data Collection & Privacy
The Application collects and processes personal and caregiving-related data, including:
- Account information
- Patient profiles
- Activity engagement data
- Journal entries
- Analytics events
Data is securely stored using Supabase infrastructure with Row Level Security.

9. Third-Party Services
The Application uses third-party services including:
- Supabase (authentication, database, storage)
- Google Analytics 4 (usage analytics)
These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. The Dementia Care is not responsible for third-party service practices.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Platform Content
All platform-provided content, including:
- Music tracks
- Photos and prompts
- Word games
- Exercise videos
- Translations and UI text
is owned by or licensed to The Dementia Care and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, distribute, or reuse this content outside the Application without permission.
11. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion:
- All associated data is permanently removed
- Deletion is irreversible
- Supabase cascade deletion applies to related records
The Dementia Care is not responsible for data loss following account deletion.
12. Availability & Changes
- The Application is provided “as is” and “as available”
- No guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service
- Features may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Dementia Care shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- No liability for data inaccuracies, caregiver decisions, or patient outcomes
- Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (currently €0, as the service is free)
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Dementia Care from any claims arising from:
- Your use of the Application
- Violation of these Terms
- Misuse of caregiving data or activities
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the European Union and Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
